After seeing a screening of "Constructing Fear" year seven student Gianluca Pompili was inspired to write a 2700 word essay on the state of Industrial Relations under the Howard Government.
Entitled "AUSTRALIAN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS UNDER THE HOWARD COALITION 1996–2007:CONSTRUCTING FEAR AND THE AUSTRALIAN BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION COMMISSION (ABCC)", he's kindly given us permission to reproduce it here.
The Age reviews Constructing Fear

A glimmer of light shone through the mainstream media black out on Sunday when The Sunday Age, Preview section reviewed the channel 31 screening of Constructing Fear. The review gave the film three stars and described it as 'powerful' and 'well made'. Channel 31 filled out the hour of programing with speeches and interviews from the Melbourne screening, where the sense of outrage the audience felt was palpable. Despite the obstacles Constructing Fear continues to find and audience, and hopefully the pressure will continue to mount on the Federal Government to do something about the ABCC and its campaign of intimidation against building workers.
